a little about me

Childcare has been part of my life since I was a kid. My mom ran a home daycare and I was always in the mix, helping out and just enjoying it. It wasn't a career plan. It just always felt like the right fit. I went on to work professionally with children starting in 2009, across home daycares, long-term nanny positions, and backup and emergency care. I've worked with newborns, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary schoolers — all kinds of kids, all kinds of families. 17 years in, I still genuinely enjoy the work. The kids keep it interesting!

  • My Childcare Philosophy

My approach is Montessori-inspired — child-led, developmentally aware, and adaptable. I don't apply the same method to every kid because it doesn't work that way. I pay attention, figure out how a particular child learns and what they need, and work from there. I have a strong focus on infants and toddlers — early development moves fast, the details matter, and that's where I do my best work.

  • Safety, Structure & Supervision

I'm CPR and First Aid certified and take preparedness seriously as a baseline expectation of the job. Day-to-day, I run structured but flexible days — infants and toddlers do better with predictable routines, and I'm consistent about maintaining them around feeding, sleep, and activity. I'm present and engaged, communicate clearly with parents throughout the day, and work within the routines families already have in place. The goal is calm, predictable days where kids are safe and parents aren't left wondering.

  • Who I Work Best With

I work best with families who respect childcare as a profession and trust the person they've brought in to do the job. That means clear communication on both sides, reasonable expectations, and not micromanaging the day. I don't need to be best friends with the families I work with — plenty of my best working relationships have been straightforward and professional — but mutual respect is non-negotiable. If you value consistency, communicate directly, and want someone who will show up and handle things, we'll probably get along just fine.

All nutrition decisions are guided by parents, and I’m always happy to communicate about preferences, allergies, or routines to ensure consistency at home.

My Process

  • Initial Inquiry & Connection

Reach out through the contact form or booking link. We'll set up a quick call to talk through what your family needs, what I offer, and whether it feels like a good fit — no pressure, just a conversation.

  • Care Planning & Scheduling

    Care Planning & Scheduling

If we decide to move forward, we'll nail down the details — schedule, routines, expectations, and logistics. I like to have the important stuff clear before care starts so there are no surprises on either side.

  • Care Begins

The first few days are about getting to know each other — your child, your home, your routines. I pay attention and adjust as I go.

  • Ongoing Communication & Adjustments

I check in regularly and communicate if something comes up. As kids grow and family needs shift, we adjust. It's an ongoing working relationship, not a set-it-and-forget-it arrangement.
